PM Modi holds bilateral meeting with Russian President Putin in Bishkek

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek. The Prime Minister said that moving forward with national interest as the paramount priority has been the shared approach of both countries, and this will remain a guiding principle of both nations in the future as well.

During a bilateral meeting with the Russian President, Mr Modi said both countries have consistently discussed the issue of Ukraine. He said, India supports all efforts towards peace and will continue to do so. He added that every day spent in war sets humanity back, whereas every step taken towards peace fills humanity with new hope and enthusiasm. The Prime Minister said that we must move away from endless war towards an end to the war.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said India is hosting the BRICS Summit in a few days, and all Indians are eager to welcome Mr Putin and his delegation. He said the visit of the Russian President will strengthen bilateral relations and further reinforce dialogue and cooperation within the BRICS framework.

President Vladimir Putin showed his satisfaction that Indian-Russian relations continue to strengthen on the basis of the principles of a special and privileged partnership.
