KIran Bedi congratulates Kejriwal and apologizes for BJP loss
Bharatiya Janata Party’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, who lost from the Krishna Nagar constituency, on Tuesday thanked the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership for reposing faith in her and congratulated Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal for his party’s landslide victory.
She hoped that he fulfils the promises made to the people.
“I want to begin by thanking BJP leadership which inspired me to join and take up the CM candidature. I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal and AAP. They have done extremely well, full marks to him. I am confident that now Arvind’s team and leadership will provide all facilities they have promised to urban poor of Delhi,” said Bedi.
“The party didn’t ask for any money from me. They accepted me the way I am. I am thankful for all the respect and love I’ve received by party and leadership,” she added.
“I conducted many road shows in Delhi. I received respect and acceptance by the people. I’m thankful to all of them. People used to stay up till 12 a.m. just to wave at me. It doesn’t matter if you voted for me or not. I’m thankful for respect I was given,” she added.
Thanking BJP leadership which reposed trust on her Bedi said, “I apologise to every one…I could not fulfill their expectation,” she said.
“I did not deserve the faith they had in me,” she said.
Bedi, who lost to APP’s S.K Baga by 2508 votes said , I have no regrets ,I have not lost, BJP has lost, let the BJP introspect”
However, she said, the poll result is not a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
