IFMS Portal, Digital Life Certificate Launched In Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday dedicated the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) portal and launched the Digital Life Certificate through Jeevan Praman Portal of the Union government across the state through video-conferencing from here.

Odisha is among the few states to have an IFMS, a custom made IT based system that bundles many essential financial management functions.

These include budgeting, payment processing, accounting, auditing and reporting for government and other stake holders into one software suite with an objective to ensure enhanced management of debt and liabilities, reduced cost and time for financial transactions and provide information for efficient decision making.

While IFMS will improve governance through better financial management, the Digital Life Certificate will serve the senior retired government employees.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister hoped that IMFS will improve governance through better financial management, enhance transparency and accountability.Government pensioners drawing pension from different treasuries and banks would be able to generate digitised life certificate through Aaadhar based biometric devices installed in all the 165 treasuries of the state.

The pensioners can also generate and submit digital life certificate using bio metric devices at their places through Jeevan Praman Portal. The pensioners would no longer be required to be physically present before the pension disbursing officer, Mr Patnaik said.

State Finance Minister P K Amat, Chief Secretary G C Pati, Development Commissioner U N Behera were among others present at the meeting.
