French Police Identity First Attacker In Paris Killing

15 November, Paris

French police have identified one of the attackers involved in a series of assaults across Paris, which left at least 129 people dead. Omar Ismail Mostefai was a 29-year-old Paris native whose detached finger was found at the Bataclan concert hall, the scene of the bloodiest attack and where three attackers blew themselves up.

The investigation into the deadly attacks in Paris is spreading across borders, with 3 arrests in Belgium yesterday. Police in Belgium arrested 3 people, including a French man, near the border with France for renting a car used in the assaults. French prosecutors said a Syrian passport was found near the body of one of the suspects killed in the attacks.

A Greek Minister said that the suspect had traveled through his country last month, indicating he had applied for refugee status. French investigators suspect the attacks may have been carried out by a cross-border team.
