Odisha Govt Spends Rs.7.29 Cr As Input Subsidy In Drought-Hit Areas: Minister

Odisha government has so far distributed Rs 7.29 crore agriculture input subsidy among the drought-affected farmers in 139 blocks spread over 21 districts of the state.

Revenue and Disaster Management minister Bijayshree Routray said the government has distributed Rs 7,28,97,000 among the drought affected farmers out of Rs113.20 crore allocated for the purpose.

The highest amount of Rs 4.12 crore agriculture input subsidy was distributed in the worst drought affected Baragarh district. Bolangir district figured second position with the distribution of Rs 1.53 crore input subsidy among the farmers.The lowest amount of Rs 2.40 lakh input subsidy was distributed in Kandhamal district.

No agriculture input subsidy was distributed in Balasore,Cuttack,Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj and in Puri District till Tuesday.

Rs 30.53 lakh input subsidy was distributed in Kalahandi district, Rs 22.13 lakh in Sundergarh, Rs 17 lakh in Subarnapur, Rs 16.95 lakh in .Sambalpur and Rs 16.53 lakh in Nuapada district. Similarly Rs 14.81 lakh input subsidy was distributed in Rayagada, Rs 12.81 lakh in Boudh,Rs 11.42 lakh in Nabarangpur Rs 10.58 lakh in Nayagarha,Rs 3.85 lakh in Koraput and Rs 3.56 lakh in Anugul district, Mr Routray added.
