AIMIM Holds Demonstration Demanding Reservation For Muslims

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen(AIMIM) activists Thursday held a demonstration in the state capital threatening to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence over their several demands including reservation for Muslims and improvement of deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

The AIMIM acitivists including hundred of women brought out a procession near the K D Singh babu stadium but when police did’nt allow them to go towards the CM residence, they squatted on the road raising anti-government slogans.

Later, the police detained several AIMIM activists for breaching law even though,they handed over a memorandum to chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on their 13-point charter of demand.

The demands included 18 per cent reservation for the Muslims, release of the innocentMmuslims implicated in terrorist act, security of the Muslims and their appointment in security forces, unemployment allowances to Muslim youths, pension for farmers over 65 years of age besides others.
