CPI leader and noted Social activist Govind Pansare and wife serious after being shot at

In Maharashtra, the condition of noted Social Activist and Communist Leader Govind Pansare and his wife is said to be serious but stable. The seriously injured couple was rushed to a hospital after being shot at by unidentified gunmen near their residence at Sagarmala area of Kolhapur city Monday .

Meanwhile, an intensive search drive has been launched by the Police and ten teams have been deployed to nab the culprits. Five suspected persons have also been detained for interrogation. The dastardly attack led to commotion resulting in demonstrations in different parts of the state.

It has also been condemned by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister for Environment and Forest Prakash Javdekar and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar along with the leaders of different political parties.
