24 November, New Delhi
Congress Tuesday appreciated Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s remarks over incidents of “intolerance” in the country and held that actor’s views are a reflection of feeling of people in the country.
“What #AamirKhan said in the presence of senior BJP leaders, is what millions in country feel”, party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said in his brief reaction.
Actor Raza Murad also endorsed Aamir’s comments. “Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are citizens of this country, they have a right to their opinion, Murad said.
“Easy to deny problems from AC rooms, one must go to camps of Kashmiri Pandits or Muzaffarnagar victims to see how people are living”, Murad added.
Addressing the Ramnath Goenka Journalism Awards ceremony here last evening, Aamir had said that he and his wife Kiran Rao are alarmed and concerned over the reports of incidents of intolerance.
“She(Kiran) fears for her child and what the atmosphere around us will be..,..she also says,”Should we move out of India”, Aamir had said.
