India successfully test fires nuclear capable Prithvi-II missile at Chandipur

India Thursday successfully test-fired its indigenously developed nuclear capable Prithvi-II surface-to-surface missile from a test range at Chandipur in Odisha at 9 .19 AM.

With a strike range of 350 km, Prithvi-II is capable of carrying 500 kg to 1,000 kg of nuclear warheads.

The user trial of the missile conducted by the Strategic Force Command (SFC) as part of a user trial was fully successful. The last user trial of Prithvi-II was successfully conducted on November 14, 2014. The first test of Prithvi missile was conducted on 27 January, 1996 .
