BJP leaders controversial remark in Nepal: Indian Embassy terms view of her own

Indian embassy in Nepal has said that the reported remark by Bharitiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice-President Renu Devi on the internal matter of Nepal was her personal and the Government of India has nothing to do with that. Ms. Devi at a function in the capital Kathmandu on Tuesday had said that Nepal would divide into fragments if the country opts for cast- based federalism. Issuing a press statement, the Embassy said it is not aware of the veracity of these statements. However, in the event that the statements as reported in the media were made, they are Ms. Renu Devi’s own views and in no way do they reflect the policy of the Government of India.
