U D Ministry asks Congress to vacate its HQ at Akbar Road, New Delhi

Union Government Thursday asked Congress party to vacate its headquarters at 24 Akbar Road in the national capital.

Official sources said Urban Development Ministry has sent a notice to the party in this regard. The notice asks the party to evict four bungalows, including the headquarters.

According to the notice, the allotments of the bungalows were cancelled since 26th June, 2013. The notice also states that the party is liable to pay the damage rate of license fee from the day it had been asked to vacate the bungalow.

Meanwhile, the Congress has confirmed that it has received a notice from the government. Party leader Motilal Vora said the party will intimate if the government made any further query. As per reports, Congress is seeking ways to extend the stay at the headquarters.
