Two police officials including one ACP suspended in Cong’s blocking of CM’s convey incident

Odisha Government Friday suspended two Police officials including one Assistant Police Commissioner for dereliction of duty that resulted in the security laps in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s convoy Thursday.
“ PK Sahoo, ASI and SK Sarifuddin, ACP in-charge of Kharavela Nagar Police Station have been placed under suspension from services basing on the report of Police Commissioner” said Director General of Police , Sanjeeb Marik .
A group of Congress youth and Students’ Congress activists Thursday had waylaid Chief Minister’s covey , hurled flags , waved black flags while he was on his way to attend the annual function of Utkal University’s students Union here.
The demonstrators were protesting the failure of state government to provide jobs to youths and failed in all level during its 15 years tenure.
Admitting security lapse , Marik said that seven youths were formally arrested in connection with the incident . More persons are likely to be arrested in the incident, he said.
