TMC Suspends English Bazaar Panchayat Samiti President Pabitra Roy For Murder Case

Ruling Trinamool Congress today suspended the partys English Bazaar Panchayat Samiti president Pabitra Roy for his alleged involvement in the murder case.

Roy was arrested yesterday by the West Bengal Police for his involvement in the villager’s death in this district. He will be produced in the court Monday.

The incident took place at English Bazaar area police station when Mr Roy had gone to participate at a sports event at Kajigram area yesterday. While returning he met with a road accident.

As agitated villagers chased the car, allegedly sudden firing from the car broke out in which Ashim Mondal was killed and three others were injured, police said.

The two youth Mondal (19) and Raju Paswan (18), were rushed to the Malda Medical College and Hospital by their neighbours, where doctors declared Asim brought dead, a senior police officer today said.

After initial treatment at Malda Medical College, Raju was referred to Kolkata later in the evening after his condition turned critical. The incident caused unrest in the area. Police had seized Roys car that he was travelling in.
