Centre Abolishes Interviews For Group-C,D Posts,Urges States To Follow Suit

The decision of the Central Government to abolish interviews for Class-III and IV government jobs come into effect from Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described this as a New Year Gift which will free the youth from corruption. In a tweet, Modi said, the decision will impact over 29 lakh central government posts, terming it a major step in the fight against corruption.

Meanwhile, Centre has also urged the States to do away with interviews for junior level posts. The Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said he has written once again to impress upon them to act fast in abolishing interviews for junior level posts in the State government.

Singh told reporters in New Delhi that most of the states are yet to respond to Centre’s call regarding the interview process.
