International Kite Festival From Jan 16 to 19

More than 25 international Kite flyers willbe participating in the Sixth edition of Belagavi-International KiteFestival (BIKF) to be held here from January 16 to 19, former MLAAbhay Patil said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that the event was organised by Parivarthan Parivar. Karnataka Minister for Small Scale Industry Satish Jarkiholi, whois also District incharge Minister will inaugurate the event, whileUnion Minister Ananth Kumar and Lok Sabha member Prabhakar Kore willparticipate in the validictory.

He said that 25 international kite flyers from various countriesincluding USA, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, UK, Russia, Estonia,Netherlands, France and Italy, besides 25 Indian flyers fromdifferent States including Maharastra, Gujarath, Kochi, Nagpur,Kolkata and Karnataka will display their skill in kite flying. He said that this year’s attraction is ‘Balloon Festival’organised for the first time.

He said that the success of the BIKF has reched the peak as lastyear the government of Goa invited BIKF to colour the skies of Goawith the maiden Goa international kite Festival (GIKF) inassociation with the Goa Department of Tourisim.

This year also theGoa Government requested BIKF team to conduct the International Kite festival at south and North Goa. We are conducting GIKF 20th &21st of this month at Colva Beach Madgaon, and 23rd and 24th atMirmar Beach Panajim Goa.

The Parivarthan Parivar has initiated a Prerana Womens festivalfor womens and multi-State youth festival to for college studentsfrom Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa.

The Womens festivalscheduled on Jan 16 & 17 for married women above the age of 25. He said that the ‘the Umang Youth Festival’ will be inaugurated byUnion Minister Dharmenddra Pradhan on Jan 18 and Mr ArvindBhadoriya, MLA, Madhya Pradesh, Mr Sanjeev Chavarsiya, MLA, Bihar,Anil Ja former MLA, Delhi will participate.
