AIB Roast Show case: HC Restrains Mumbai Police from taking coercive action against Karan Johar

The Bombay High Court has restrained Mumbai police from taking any coercive action against Bollywood producer Karan Johar in connection with AIB Roast case.

Last week a similar order was passed restraining the Pune police from taking any coercive action against 14 persons, including Johar for allegedly using obscene and abusive language at AIB Roast show held in Mumbai last year.

The division bench of Justices Ranjit More and Anuja Prabhudessai has now clubbed both the matters and fixed the next date of hearing on 16th March.

The court also directed the state government to file its reply to the two petitions which seek to quash the FIRs.

Both the Mumbai and Pune Police have registered separate FIRs against 14 people, including the artists and organisers of AIB Roast apart from some of the audience members and the officers of National Sports Club of India, where the show was held.
