Several Explosions ,Gunfire Rock Jakarta , Atleast Seven Dead

In Indonesia, several explosions and subsequent gunfire rocked a central area of capital Jakarta Thursday, leaving at least seven people dead, according to officials and witnesses.

Local media report as many as six blasts went off near the Sarinah shopping center, where there are also several office buildings, embassies and upscale hotels. Police have said they believe this is a bomb attack. There is no indication yet of who might be behind the assault.

The area around the blast site has been cordoned off. National police spokesman told people had been warned to stay indoors in case of further explosions.
