World’s One Of Largest Ultra Mega Power Plants Being Set Up At Gurh In MP

One of the world’s largest ultra mega solar power plants is being set up at Gurh in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. .

The Madhya Pradesh Energy Development Corporation has signed an MOU with the International Finance Corporation in this regard.

AIR correspondent reports, the International Finance Corporation will render its services as fiscal adviser. The cost of the project is 4,500 crore rupees. It will generate 750 megawatt energy. The ultra mega solar power plant will be set up in 1500 hectares land.

The World Bank has given consent to make available 40 million dollars for the plant. World Bank will provide loan worth 50 percent of project cost through SEKI, which would be repaid in 25 years. The plant will start generating power by June 2017.
