Swine Flu Deaths Cross 22 Mark in Gujarat , 8 Casualties in Tamil Nadu

The death toll due to H1N1 virus has crossed the 200 mark as 10 more swine flu patients died during the last 24 hours in Gujarat .

Two deaths each were reported from Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat while one death each was reported from Sabarkantha, Bharuch, Surendranagar and Panchmahal district.

According to Health Department sources, as many as 221 new cases of swine flu were reported across the state taking the total number of cases to 3107 till date.

Maximum 80 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad district alone, while Surat district has reported 29 new cases and Vadodara district has reported 22 new cases during last 24 hours.

State Government has also claimed that more 389 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospitals yesterday. Thus total number of patients cured from swine flu till now has reached to 1780.

Meanwhile , Tamil Nadu Government has purchased four lakh TAMIFLU tablets to tackle HINI virus.

Health Minister Dr.Vijay Bhaskar Monday told the State Assembly that till now 225 persons were found affected with the virus and 125 had received treatment and had returned back home.

The Minister said that eight persons who were affected with the virus were dead.

Stating that 20 thousand vaccine injections were ready to meet out the necessity, the Minister listed out the activities carried out on the regulations given by the World Health organisation on HINI virus infection.
