Top BJP leaders meet PM, discuss current political situation

Top BJP leaders Sunday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the backdrop of the JNU row which has turned into a full blown political controversy.
Party chief Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj are learnt to have discussed the current political developments at the Prime Ministers residence.
Though the meeting was stated to have been held to discuss issues relating to the coming budget session of Parliament and Assembly elections, it is understood that the stand-off with the Opposition over the controversy arising out of the holding of an event to commemorate the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru during which anti-India slogans were raised.
