RSS Chief’s Controversial Remark : Conversion Was Main Motive Behind Mother Teresa’s Service

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has alleged that conversion to Christianity was the main motive behind Mother Teresa’s service to the poor.

Inaugurating an orphanage and a women’s home at Bharatpur in Rajasthan Monday , Bhagwat said that Mother Teresa’s service would have been good, but it used to have one objective, to convert the person, who was being served, into a Christian.

The RSS Chief said, the question is not about conversion but if this is done in the name of service, then that service gets devalued.

Bhagwat’s comments have evoked sharp reactions. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot said, this sort of talk by right-wing forces casting aspersions on eminent people like Mother Teresa is a deliberate attempt to whip up negative emotions and distort history.
