JK Panthers Party demands dissolution of Assembly

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today demanded dissolution of Assembly in absence of popular government.Flabbergasted by the BJPs reported attempts to woo PDP by unethical means amid the political deadlock in the State, Panthers Party activists led by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State president JKNPP and Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers held a demonstration seeking an immediate dissolution of J&K Assembly followed by fresh elections in the interest of democracy here.

Singh revealed that it had been almost 50 days since the Governor rule was imposed in the state of J&K with none of the political parties or combinations staking claim to form the govt. He pointed out that on three occasions the Governor had sought a concrete reply from both the PDP and the BJP over the government formation.

Expressing skepticism over the political fate of the State, he maintained that none of the political parties were able to reach magic figure of 45 required to form the government and in such a scenario putting conditions or buying time by the political parties on the invitation of the Governor to his office, only desecrates the sanctity of a democratic institution.

In the wake of the political uncertainty, the Central government was using political coercion to unconstitutionally prolong the Governor Rule in J&K, said the former minister.Lambasting the BJP for reportedly sealing the deal to forge an alliance with the PDP by unethical means, Singh disclosed that the Saffron party was desperate to tie knots with the PDP once again by hook or by crook only for returning to power.
