WB University of Technology to be renamed after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad

West Bengal University of Technology will be renamed as the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.

A bill to this effect was adopted in the State Assembly Tuesday .

Moving the bill in the House the State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said that the Government has decided to rename the University to commemorate the 126 Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a prominent leader in the Indian National movement and country’s first Education Minister.

The house also adopted the West Bengal commission for Backward Classes Amendment Bill 2015.
