JNU row: Farooq criticises elements for raising anti-national slogans
27 February, Jammu
National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah today criticised the elements who raised anti-national slogans in the JNU.
Dr Abdullah told reporters at the sidelines of a function in Jammu Saturday that JNU-like incidents are not acceptable and the party condemns the same. He commented that if the students of JNU wanted to talk and raise the issue of Afzal Guru, they should have done it in a systematic way and there should not have been any violence and noise.
The NC president stalwart however, batted for Indo-Pak cricket tournaments to strengthen relations between two countries.
He said that the party favours India Pakistan cricket, but at the same time Pakistan should understand that talks and terror would not go together. He further said that incidents like Pampore attack will derail talks.
