BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde in trouble for inflammatory statement

BJP Lok Sabha member from Uttara Kannadasegment in Karnataka, Anantkumar Hegde, is in trouble after he hadallegedly made an inflammatory statement breaching Sec 295 of theIPC, and police have booked a case against him.

The MP, had allegedly said during a press conference in Sirsitown under the segment on February 28 that, ”Islam was responsiblefor growth of terrorism in the world and until it was rooted out,terror will not end”.

Sirsi police said today that a case under IPC 295 for deliberateand malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings, had beenbooked against the MP.

However, the police are yet to question the parliament member,sources said.

Meanwhile, minority dominated Bhatkal town in Uttara Kannadadistrict witnessed tense situation during the last two days, withheavy police security ordered to be in place. However, no untowardincidents were reported.

Some minority organisations submitted a memorandum to UK SP CVamshi Krishna demanding arrest of the BJP Lok Sabha member.
