Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa drops minister Chinnayya from cabinet

Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalithaa has dropped a minister from her cabinet, with barely three months remaining for the tenure of the current Assembly.

She has removed Mr TKM Chinnayya, who was serving as the state animal husbandry minister so far from the council of ministers.

An official release from Raj Bhavan says, Social Welfare Minister B.Valarmathi would look after the portfolio additionally.

Chinnayya has been removed from the AIADMK party’s Kanchipuram East district Secretary post also by the party supremo Ms Jayalalithaa.

The action comes ahead of the Assembly elections for which the dates are expected to be announced by the Election Commission in a few days. She has also revamped the party structure by effecting many changes in the postings ahead of the elections.
