Sharif wants foolproof security for team before Mar 19 tie
05 March, Islamabad
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali to dispatch a team to India to assess the security measures before the high voltage ICC World T20 clash against the hosts in Dharamshala on March 19.
The decision of sending the Green Brigade to the neighbouring country will be on hold till the report of the security assessment team is submitted to the Prime Minister.
According to a Radio Pakistan report, Ali briefed Sharif on matter pertaining to security of cricket team during its visit to India to participate in World T20.
Sharif directed that a team be sent to New Delhi to report on security measures in India to help take the final decision in this regard.
The Prime Minister also directed him to ensure ‘fool-proof’ security measures for the team in coordination with the Pakistan high commissioner in New Delhi.
