BJP’s CM candidate Sonowal files nomination from Majuli

BJP’s chief ministerial candidate and state president Sarbananda Sonowal Wednesday filed his nomination papers before the returning officer of Majuli.

The filing of nomination of Sonowal was led by a huge rally which included more than 10,000 safforn brigade followers. State’s topbrass BJP and AGP leaders also accompanied him. Sonowal had reached the island at around 5.30 pm yesterday with a three-day long programme.

After filing the nomination, he addressed a public rally at Garmur ministadium and is slated to talk with the representatives of several organizations and individuals in his constituency.

Earlier, Sonowal visited the Vaisnaviate monasteries in the island like Dakhinpat, Samoguri, Bhogpur, Bengaati and Natun Kamalabari after he reached the island by ferry service at Apholamukh yesterday.
