RBI to issue denomination notes shortly

Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue Rs 10 denomination notes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005 with inset letter “C” in both the numbering panels, bearing thesignature of Raguram Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India. A release from RBI said here Wednesday, the year of printing “2016” appears on the reverse of the bank note.
The design of these notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to Rs. notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, Issued earlier.
All the bank notes in the denomination of Rs ten issued by the Bank in the past would continueto be treated as legal tenders.
The RBI would shortly issue Rs 20 denomination notes, bearing the signature of Dr Raguram Rajan, the release added.
