J&K: No change in ‘Agenda of Alliance’, Nirmal Singh to be DyCM candidate: BJP

25 March, Jammu

The BJP Friday cleared that there will be no change in ‘Agenda of Alliance’ for Tgovernment formation and MLA, Billawar Dr Nirmal Singh will be the candidate for Deputy Chief Ministerial chair.

Dr Singh was also the DyCM in 10-month long PDP-BJP government headed by late chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

“It was unanimously decided in the legislators party meeting today that BJP will form government with PDP,” Sat Sharma, BJP state president told reporters here after the meeting

The meeting was chaired by national general secretary Ram Madhav flanked by Union MoS Dr Jitendra Singh.

“Besides government formation in alliance with PDP, the decks have also been once again cleared for Dr Nirmal Singh as DyCM candidate,” said Mr Sharma.

He said that both PDP-BJP will also hold a joint meeting in the evening to discuss various matters before meeting Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan.

“We will meet the Governor in couple of days but before that a joint meeting will be held between both the parties to discuss various issues,” he asserted.

The BJP chief however, refused to comment on any differences between the two parties and delay in government formation process.

According to sources, prominent portfolios may create “rift” between both the parties, which is being sorted out.

The Governor on March 23 had addressed letters to PDP-BJP heads to clear their stand on Government formation and meet him today at the Raj Bhawan.

Governor’s Rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir on January 8 after the death of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Jan 7 at AIIMS in New Delhi
