Aurobindo Pharma receives USFDA nod for 2 generic drugs

Pharma Major,Aurobindo Pharma said that the company has received final nod from the US Food & Drug Administration(USFDA) to manufacture and market two generic drugs.
The company said, ”Received final USFDA nod to manufacture and market Vancomycin Hydrochloride for injection USP, 500 mg/vial and 1g/vial and Valganciclovir tablets USP, 450 mg.”While, Valganciclovir tablets USP is to be launched in first quarter of FY16-17, Vancomycin Hydrochloride for injection is expected to be launched in the later part of FY16-17.Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection is an antibiotic used in the treatment of severe infections caused by susceptible strains.
It has an estimated market size of USD 94 million for the twelve month sending January 2016 according to IMS.
Valganciclovir tablets is an anti-viral used in the treatment of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in patients with acquired immuno deficiency syndrome. It has an estimated market size of USD391 million for the twelve months ending February 2016 according to IMS.
