IS Militants Kill 100 Assyrian Christians in Syria

Kurdish people’s defence units – YPG and YPJ have said that Islamic State militants retreating from Tel Hamis have massacred over 100 Assyrian Christians in Tel Temir and kidnapped several others.
Commanders Nesrin Abdullah and Rêdur Xelil told in Erbil that after suffering heavy blows in Tel Hemis, the Islamic state militants headed for Tel Temir and committed these atrocities.
Earlier Syrian observatory for Human rights had reported that extremist are holding over 220 Assyrian Christians as hostage.
The Kurdish leaders said that operations in Tel Hemis were on for last six day. They have surrounded Tel Hemis from three fronts while only the Tel Berak area in the western side remained under Islamic State control.
The Kurdish commanders said that around 100 Islamic state group militants were killed in Tel Hemis and corpses of many were being held by YPG forces. Commander Xelil said that YPG forces have formed a line of defense, expecting the IS militant-groups to carry out attacks on other areas after suffering a heavy defeat in Tel Hemis.
He vowed to liberate Tel Hemis just like how it happened in Kobane and said more than a hundred villages have been cleansed of extremists till date.
