Sayeed –Modi Finalise Govt. Formation in J&K, PM To Attend Swearing-In Ceremony Sunday

PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed Friday Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi ahead of the swearing-in of the PDP-BJP alliance government on Sunday.

The meeting comes after the BJP and PDP reached a consensus on a Common Minimum Programme that will form the basis of their unique coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sayeed, who arrived in New Delhi yesterday evening, met the Prime Minister at his residence to give finishing touches to the cabinet that would be sworn-in along with Sayeed.

The swearing-in function will be held in Jammu where Governor N N Vohra will administer oath to Mr Sayeed, who is returning as Chief Minister after a gap of more than nine years.

Sayeed said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the swearing-in ceremony. The PDP Leader said, the Common Minimum Programme of the government will be released at 3 PM on Sunday after the swearing-in ceremony.

Sayeed refused to answer any specific questions on controversial issues like Armed Forces Special Powers Act or Article 370. He said, lot of discussions have taken place for the past two months to forge a common ground, a common agenda.

He equated the PDP-BJP coalition with bringing together of North Pole with South Pole. Sayeed said, the mandate of election is clear that PDP is the choice of people in Kashmir and BJP in Jammu and the two parties joined hands for all-round development of all the regions of the state.
