All set for Jaya’s swearing-in, tight

All arrangements are in place as the stage is all set for the swearing-in ceremony of AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for a record sixth time.

Governor Dr K Rosaiah will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Ms Jayalalithaa and her 28 Cabinet Ministers at a glittering function to be held at the Madras University Centenary auditorium tomorrow.

The 29-member Tamil Nadu Cabinet to be headed by Ms Jayalalithaa has a mix of old and new faces andfour women, including the Chief Minister-designate.

There would be 13 new faces in the Cabinet. They included V Saroja, who was allotted the Social Welfare portfolio, Udumalai Radhakrishnan (Housing and Urban Development), R Duraikannu (Agriculture and Animal Husbandry), P Benjamin (School Education), V Natarajan (Tourism), V M Rajalakshmi (Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare), S. Valarmathi (Backward Classes and Minority Welfare), Dr Manikandan (IT), M R Vijayabhaskar (Transport), K C Karupannan (Environment), O S Manian (Handlooms and Textiles), Kadambur Raju (Information and Publicity) and Dindigul C Srinivasan (Forest).
