Demonstrations against Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor

District youth Congress workers today staged demonstrations against Bollywood actor, Rishi Kapoor for his alleged remarks over naming country’s assets after Nehru-Gandhi family members.

About hundred youth congress workers led by office-bearers including Sardar Patil, president of Karvir youth congress and congress corporator Taufic Mullani, gathered at historic Dasara Chowk this afternoon and shouted slogans against him.

Some of the youths attempted to burn the effigy of Mr Kapoor, but timely intervention of police foiled their attempt. Kapoor, who had twitted on May 18, attacked the practice of naming all the major assets of the country after the Gandhi family members during the Congress rule.

He also said the names of the prominent places should be changed after those who worked for the welfare of the country.
