Mamata govt enhances festival advance, bonus for employees

The West Bengal government has announced raising its employees’ Puja bonus by Rs 100 and salary advance by Rs 500.

The announcement made through a notification on Tuesday, said the festival bonus for the employees drawing salary less than Rs 22,000 per month was raised to Rs 2600 from Rs 2500 last year.

The advance for the employees drawing more than Rs 22,000 but less than Rs 30,000 per month has been raised to Rs 2500 from Rs 2000.The ex-gratia for retired government employees drawing salary less than Rs 22,000 per month, which was Rs 900, has been raised to Rs 1000.

Earlier after swearing-in-ceremony on May 27, the Mamata Banerjee’s second term government had announced to grant an interim relief to the employees at the rate 10 per cent of the band pay with effect from July 1, 2016.

The employees of state government departments, local bodies, teachers and pensioners would get the benefit of this interim relief.
