Rahul makes phone call to Dalit family

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi Sunday had a telephonic conversation with the Dalit family who were arrested and sent to the jail, following a fake complaint by a DYFI leader against them.

Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala said Gandhi made a phone call to the Dalit family including Akhila and her father Rajan.

It was reported that Anjana and Akhila, her 18-month-old child were summoned to the Thalasseri police station on the basis of a complaint registered against them by the DYFI leader.Opposition parties, Congress and BJP, alleged that the arrest was made after violating all the directives laid down by the Supreme Court.

The women were arrested only for the reason that their father Rajan had contested against CPM leader in the previous local body elections.Later, Thalasseri Judicial Magistrate Court gave them conditional bail.

The DYFI leader alleged that the Dalit women attacked him and injured him after entering the party office Kuttimakool on June 11.
