Jagmohan Dalmiya Set To Be Next BCCI Chief Unopposed Monday

Jagmohan Dalmiya is set to return as the Board of Control for Cricket in India president after other candidates for the post pulled out ahead of the body’s annual general meeting on Monday in Chennai.

A consensus seems to have been emerged between the two rival factions on electing former BCCI and ICC President Jagmohan Dalmiya as the new president of the Indian Cricket Board at its crucial Annual General Meeting to be held at Chennai Monday on the the instructions of the Supreme Court.

Dalmiya filed his nomination for the post of BCCI President today. Sources here said that Dalmiya’s was the only nomination filed so far for the coveted President Post as the deadline for filing of nominations ended at 1500 hrs.

He was all set to be elected as the next BCCI Presidentunopposed at the AGM tomorrow for the next three years.
In January, the Supreme Court had barred former BCCI chief N Srinivasan from contesting the body’s elections due to the conflict-of-interest with regard to the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. The apex court, however, cleared the former BCCI chief for his alleged cover-ups in the spot-fixing case.
However, Srinivasan has been granted permission to cast his vote at the AGM
