‘Sultan’ to get competition from Pak film across the border

After enthralling the people of Pakistan with his ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’, Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan will again look to entertain cinegoers from across the border from his next film ‘Sultan’, a biopic on the life of Olympian Indian wrestler Sultan Ali Khan.

However, as the movie gets set for release in Pakistan, it will meet strong competition from the Pakistani multi-starrer ‘Sawaal 700 crore dollar ka’.Releasing on the same day, ‘Sawaal 700 crore dollar ka’ features an ensemble cast comprising big names across the border like, Ghulam Mohinuddin, Shamoon Abbasi, Javed Sheikh, Ismail Tara, Nayyar Ejaz, Ifttikar Thakur and more.

Trade sources, however, say that the Salman Khan-starrer gets a bigger share of the screens in Pakistan compared to the Pakistani film. While ‘Sultan’ will release on 60 per cent of the cinema screens, the Pakistani film will be released on the remaining screens there.

In fact, trade sources said that the Pakistani film will release on less than 100 cinema screens across in that country.Produced by Yashraj films, ‘Sultan’, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is a biopic on the life of Olympian Wrestler Sultan Ali Khan. It features Salman in the title role while featuring Anushka Sharma in the role of his beloved Aarfa. It also features Randeep Hooda in a key role of Sultan Ali Khan’s coach. The film is among the most awaited cinematic ventures this year.
