Singer Arun Date gets ‘Ram Kadam Award’

Former Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar has prejented the 11th Ram Kadam Award to maestro singer Arun Date here.

Praising Date, Mr Pawar said here last evening ”Arun Date is a native of Indore (MP). His riyaz on the banks of Shipra river gave us the songs like ‘Bhatuklichya kgelamadhli’, his high contribution in the field of music is unforgettable”.

Famous singer Suresh Wadkar forwarded the demand for ‘Padma’ award, in presence of all Punekars to Date.

“Arun Date got many more awards in the state, but still at national level, he is deprived of attention.”

Songs like ‘Shukhratara and Swargangechya Kathavarti are the bestowal to the society from Arun Date, Mr Pawar added.

‘Sharad Krida and Sanskrutik Prtishtan’ each year organise the Ram Kadam Award in the memory of late Ram Kadam for his contribution in the field of music.

“This programme celebrates and honours legends of music for their contribtion in field. And this year, we are very happy to give Award to Dateji” said Laxmikant Khabia, founder president of the pratishtan.

Though there was heavy rain, puekars gathered here in Balgandharv hall in large number to take banquet of songs in monsoon season.

Mayor Prashant Jagtap, Amer Salem industrialist from Dubai, Anil Bhosale, Vijay Kadam and many others graced the occasion.
