PM appeals people of Kashmir to maintain peace and calm in valley

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed the people of violence-hit Kashmir to maintain peace and calm in the valley.

He also extended every possible assistance to the state in maintaining law and order. Modi today chaired a high level meeting in New Delhi with senior Union Ministers and reviewed the prevailing situation.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that Modi has hoped for peace saying no innocent lives are disturbed.

He said the Prime Minister is keeping a close watch on the sequence of events in the valley.

The meeting was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar among others.
