Expressing grief over Kandhmal crossfire incident, which claimed lives of five tribals including a child, BJP chief Amit Shah Tuesday constituted a three-member probe team to visit the spot and find out the facts.

In a statement, the party said Mr Shah has set up a team of party leaders comprising Vinay Sahasrabudhe (National vice-President), Jyoti Dhruve (General Secretary) and Ram Vichar Netam (General Secretary).

The team will visit Kandhmal and submit a report to Mr Shah, the statement read. Five villagers, including two men, two women and a child, were caught in the cross firing on July 8 during an encounter between the SOG jawans and the Maoists inside the Malpanga forest near Kurtamgada under Parampanga panchayat in Kandhmal district.
