Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation to be set up soon
24 July, Raipur
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has announced setting up of the State Film Development Corporation, in order to boost film industry in the state.
“Nearly 150 movies have been produced since the production of first Chhattisgarhi film ‘Kahi Debe Sandesh’ by Manu Naayak in 1965. Though films produced in the state did not succeed much financially, film producers and artists had shown immense dedication towards art and culture of the state,” said Dr Singh, while making the announcement during an cine award ceremony, organised by a Hindi newspaper group last night.
He said the long-standing demand by filmmakers and artists for establishing a film development corporation would be fulfilled soon.
