India Raises Terrorism Issue In Foreign Secy Level Talks

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar today called on his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Chaudhry in Islamabad and reiterated India’s concerns on cross border terrorism, including on the Mumbai case.
Jaishankar told media after the meeting that ideas and initiatives to take SAARC forward were discussed as Pakistan will be the next SAARC Chair.
He conveyed India’s willingness to work with Pakistan to help SAARC achieve its potential.
An official release said the talks were held in a positive atmosphere and both Jaishankar and Chaudhry agreed that ensuring peace and tranquillity on the border was vital. They also agreed to work together to find common ground and narrow differences.
