Sprinter Dharambir fails dope test, misses Rio

Dharambir Singh, the first Indian male sprinter after 36 years to qualify for the Olympics, has tested positive in doping case in an in-competition test conducted last month.

Dharambir Singh created a record in 200m was to leave for Rio yesterday but was told by the authorities to stay back.

The sprinter tested positive in the dope test conducted by NADA.

Earlier Shot putter Inderjeet Singh too had tested positive.
