CBI Raids TMC MP Tapas Pal’s Flats in Rose Valley Group in Rose Valley Chit Fund Scam

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today conducted raids for four hours, at two South Kolkata flats of Bengali actor and present Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Tapas Pal, in an alleged Chit-fund scam case related to the Rose Valley Group.

Pal is said to have benefited financially from the Rose Valley Chit-fund organization as revealed in the huge number of documents seized by CBI.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI today carried out search operations against the Rose Valley Group in 43 locations across the country in the scam.

According to sources, searches were conducted in 27 places in West Bengal, 7 in Tripura and one each in Odisha, Assam, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.

Rose Valley is one of the alleged deposit-taking companies whose names have featured in the list of ponzi firms prepared by the Corporate Ministry.

The CBI sources also claim that the Bengali actor, used to be a regular visitor to the different Kolkata offices of Rose Valley, allegedly to collect money. The sources also claim that if needed, Mr. Tapas Pal may have to face questioning by the agency.

Apart from offices, searches have been conducted at the residential premises of Rose Valley Group’s Chairman Gautam Kundu and the Organization’s Managing Director, (MD) Shibomoy Dutta and Directors of Rose Valley Group of companies, including Abir Kundu, Ramlal Goswami and Mr. Ashok Kumar Saha.
