IAF saves precious life, shifts patient from Kishtwar to Jammu

Indian Air Force today saved a precious life by shifting a patient, who suffered brain haemorrhage, in Kishtwar district from where he was evacuated and shifted to Jammu district for specialised treatment.

”One Shri Devidas Kumarchand,65, who suffered brain haemorrhage and paralysis, was evacuated by Indian Air Force on the request made by the administration,” defence spokesperson Col S D Goswami here said.

He said IAF Chetak helicopter from Air Force Station Udhampur immediately took off at around 1530 hrs along with an attendant and evacuated the patient from remote Sounder village of Kishtwar region and landed at AF Station Jammu at around 1715 hrs.

”The civil administration immediately rushed the patient to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu by own ambulance,” the Colonel said, adding that the helicopter returned to base after completion of the task.

Meanwhile, the condition of the patient was stated to be stable.
