Petro Chemical complex to come up in AP: Dharmdra Pradhan

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradahan announced the establishment of new Petro Chemical complex in Andhra Pradesh and expansion of the Hindustan Petroleum Chemical limited (HPCL) in Visakhapatnam.

Addressing the 15th anniversary of Swarna Bharathi Trust (SBT), being run by Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu’s daughter Deepa Venkat here today, he said a new Petroleum Chemical Complex would be established in Andhra Pradesh. The HPCL in Visakhapatnam would be expanded besides a Petroleum University would also be set up in the state. The investment for the major projects would be Rs.52,000 crore, he said.

Mr.Pradahan said that the abundance of oil resources was found in the Krishna-Godavari basin and if the resources were explored, Andhra Pradesh would be the Capital for production of petroleum products.

Addressing the programme, Mr Venkaiah Naidu the Swarna Bharathi Trust was established 15 years ago to impart training to develop skills to the poor. The Minister said the SBT was not running with the government funds.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan also spoke. BJP State President and MP K Haribabu, Olympic Silver Medalist P V Sindhu and her coach Gopichand were also present.
