JD (U) and Cong close rank against Shahabuddin

JD (U) and Congress today closed rank against RJD strongman Mohammed Shahabuddin’s outburst against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying the rule of law will prevail even if the government had to go.

Targeting Shahabuddin for his criminal antecedents, state JD (U) spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar said that rule of law would continue to prevail in the state in all circumstances even if the state government had to go. He said, Shahabuddin`s remark against Kumar was a matter of concern for the democracy itself. “It causes pain when injection is given by a government, still you are left with no option other than expressing your happiness ignoring your pain,” he remarked.

“You will be realised government`s strength if you do anything wrong,” JD (U) leader commented while attacking Shahabuddin.Kumar said the history of Shahabuddin was not that of ‘sadhus and saints’ and it was perplexing how he was giving lessons on politics after spending 11 years in jail.”Nitish Kumar is the leader of anti-BJP front,” JD (U) MLC added.

After his release from Bhagalpur Central Jail yesterday, Shahabuddin had said that Nitish Kumar was the Chief Minister of circumstances and he considered RJD chief Lalu Prasad as his only leader.

Senior Congress leader and party MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan said that Shahabuddin’s remark against CM was illogical and also an example of ‘negative’ politics. He said, Chief Minister Kumar was the leader of grand alliance, comprising JD (U), RJD and Congress.

Khan said that Shahabuddin`s remarks against Kumar was also not in the interest of secular forces. He said, people were not scared of lawlessness under “Sushashan” of the Chief Minister and claimed that the state government was capable of ‘controlling every situation’.
