Nepal PM invites Indian companies for greater economic ties

Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ invited Indian industry to invest in his country as it offers conducive environment at hydropower, tourism, services, IT, mining and agro based industries.

At a joint business meeting organised by apex Indian Chambers yesterday, Dahal said, “Double circuit cross border transmission is now operational and second cross border transmission line is being developed. Tourism is another lucrative another area, we are receiving the larger number of tourist from India every year. ”Development of supporting infrastructure is essential to drag tourism industry. We are developing regional international airports and more in pipeline. Agriculture and herbal is another area for investment.”

Dahal said that the pattern of trade and investment has changed in 21st century. ”The value chains are on the rise which will be benefiting for both of our countries. We have given top priority our cross border Infrastructure. Both our countries are working in cross border Infrastructure. We have open almost 80 sectors for foreign investments this include manufacturing, hydropower, services IT, mining and other sectors.”Nepal’s doors are open for investment in almost every sector. These include manufacturing, hydropower, tourism, services, IT, mining and agro based industries. Our government will extend all needful support to facilitate your investments in Nepal,” he said.
